REVIEW: VAUGHAN STREET

IMG_2067

Off the beaten tourist path in West End sits Vaughan Street, the very definition of mom and pop sandwich shop.  With a large menu of to-go only focaccia sandwiches, wraps and regular sandwiches, this is a local favorite.

You’ll find the list of sandwiches along one wall, drinks and chips and the like along the other. Order at the counter and a few minutes later you’ll be on your way.

The Monster wants to be healthy and get a wrap but he knows he’ll end up with a focaccia sandwich. And so he easily succumbs.

It’s a basil pesto chicken sandwich with sundried tomato, pesto, spinach, roasted reds and Parmesan.

It is large and freshly made and it is pretty tasty but The Monster wishes more of the pesto flavor came through.  But The Monster is a pesto fiend so maybe that’s just him.

With friendly service and fair prices Vaughan Street is perfect for those looking for a quick lunch or picnic when the weather permits.

Why go?  Sandwiches.
