The Monster had been looking forward to sampling Fore Street’s renowned cooking since his last visit to Portland. Looking in the windows jealousy each time he passed, everything about it screams class and elegance.
But would it prove worthy?
In need of a great, satisfying lobster roll before leaving Maine, The Monster drags himself over to The Porthole Restaurant despite not being the least bit hungry.
On the water, views of the boats in harbor on this grey November day, it’s warm inside and filled with people at the bar watching football, digging on food like steamers and chowder and having a beer.
Fourteen years ago The Monster decided he was going to eat at every restaurant in the Los Angeles Zagat Guide. Nevermind the city was almost five hundred square miles large, with over 13 million inhabitants, speaking over two hundred and twenty different languages, without a functioning mass transit system.
