REVIEW: DOMENICO’S

IMG_6078

It’s pretty much a given that a place on Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterrey is going to be a tourist trap.  The Monster doesn’t like tourist traps but stops off at Domemico’s hoping for the best.

Things start off perfectly with a table by the window and a view of sea lions hanging out doing their thing.  The Monster loves animals so this is a trip.

Walking down the wharf you are bombarded with free samples of clam chowder from every restaurant along the way. They all offer the same basic menu and the same seafood options.  Will Domenico’s prove it is above the fray?

The Monster starts off with the New England clam chowder bread bowl.   Pretty damn good.  Big chunks of clam and a nice sourdough bread.  It’s not New England great but what is?

Next up is the crab salad.  A large serving of crab and some decent cocktail sauce.   So far so good.

Last up is the Cioppino.  This is a gamble.  It has a good chance of sucking goat balls.  Does it?

You’ll have to head to Domenico’s and find out yourself…

Why go?  The Cioppino.
