This is a fail.  Bar Pintxo is nearly empty.  The waiter mentions ordering off the new lunch menu which features larger plates and not traditional tapas because the items come out quicker.

So The Monster does.  And then The Monster waits.

And waits.

And waits.

Some more.

Water is not refilled.

By the way, still waiting.

Need water.

Need food.

Remember, the place is nearly empty.

Where is the food?  And water?

It comes.

It disappoints.

The salads are pedestrian.  In fact, the garlic chicken salad with baby gem lettuce and 25 year old sherry vinaigrette uses pretty skeevy chicken.  The calamari salad with lemon vinaigrette is just plain boring.

Then the main dish comes.  It’s description includes the word subtle.  Smokey seafood stew, SUBTLY spicy in a saffron tomato broth, shrimp (AHEM, ONE OF THEM), calamari, shellfish.

It tastes like a pile of salt.

Is that subtle?

No, that just plain sucks.

Why go?  You are as subtle as reality TV.

  1. So funny. Someone literally yesterday told me to go here because it was great. So glad I read your review on this place.

    • Everyone has different taste so you’re friend may have had a great meal but on this day there is no way anyone would have liked the meal server. Will not be going back to see if it was a fluke.

  2. Thank you a bunch for sharing this with all people
