REVIEW: TRISHNA

photo

Home to all things seafood is this tiny Mumbai seafooder that looks like something akin to a San Gabriel Valley hole in the wall meets the clubbiness of Dan Tana’s with the tuxedoed staff.  The voluminous menu is a treasure trove of crab, lobster, jumbo prawns and fish indigenous to the Arabian Sea.

The Monster is about to get down to business.  Jumbo prawns in butter and garlic, king crab in barbecue garlic along with their famous appam.

For non-seafood eaters the menu is equally as huge but for a restaurant sporting fish tanks (albeit with one tiny fish swimming alone in each) is that really why you came?

These aren’t prawns.  They are the invaders from District 39.  They are gargantuan, smothered in the most delicious and pungent garlic. They are tied for the best prawn dish The Monster has ever had with Wolfie Cohen’s Rascal House (RIP) shrimp parmigiana.

And then the crab comes and it is unfathomably great.  Messy, meaty, sweet and smoking with garlic goodness.  My lord.

So for dessert?  Another round of prawns of course!  You won’t be able to resist.

Why go?  Prawnvana.
